Hey guys! It’s Ib
I’m introducing a new series on the blog called, “TWTW: Time With The Word”. It’ll be a monthly series. It’s a post where I’ll share some of my favorite Bible verses and we can ruminate and meditate on them together.
I’ve had this thought for months now and at first I was hesitant so I pushed it aside but during my meditation today, I really felt God tell me that I had to do this and I could really help people with this. As a Christian, I feel like it should be our goal to use the gifts God has given us to serve Him and serve others. So if I can be that person that tells you to spend some time with God or remind you of what God says about you in His Word then I’ll be that person.
I decided to launch this series with my all time favorite verse:
John 13:7 (NLT)
“Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.””
This verse came to me at a time when I really needed to hear it and ever since, I always hold it dear to my heart.
There are a lot of things that are happening to us at the moment that we just don’t get why. It feels like nothing is working out. Every turn is a dead end. This verse is a reminder that we are humans and the only things we see are the things that are right in front of us but God sees the bigger picture and everything goes according to His plan.
God has shown me several times this year how true this verse is and if you reflect deeply, He has shown you too. There were times that the way events kept playing out had me so frustrated but at the end of the day, it played out in my favor. I got something I wanted. The path that I thought was taking me farther from where I was going actually led me right to it.
Whenever it “seems” like nothing is going my way, I just say, “God, you know what you’re doing so it’s fine” and that instantly eases my mind.
I know it looks like it’s easier said than done but when you become more aware of the moments when you thought it wouldn’t work out but it ended up playing out in your favor, when you pile up those experiences in your mind and you have evidences that His word is true, it becomes easier to just let Him lead.
Prayer:
Dear God, in situations where it looks like everything is against us, help us to remember that as Your children, all things work together for our good. We are only humans so sometimes we will not understand what Your plan is, grant us peace in knowing that Your plans for us are of good and not of evil and to always bring us to our expected end. Help us to accept situations that we can’t control and know when to step down and let You take the reigns. In Jesus’s name, Amen
Let me know your thoughts on this series or whatever you’d like to share in the comments section. What is your favorite verse? Or a word of encouragement you’d like to share.
Thank you so much for reading today’s post. I hope that this word has somehow given you peace. Until next time, love you!🤍
