Blogmas’24 Day 1: Progress Report On 2024 Goals

Hi hi hiiii

I’m 19 days late but Happy new month! It’s December omg! I feel like I say this every month but WHERE DID ALL THE TIME GO?

I’m reminded of a sermon I listened to earlier this month. The pastor said, “You can’t waste time, you can only waste your self/life”. He said time passes by, it can’t be wasted but you on the otherhand, you can waste your life waiting for the right time. Each day that passes is one day gone out of your life. That’s why no matter how young you are, if someone asks for your age, they say, how ‘old’ are you? That message touched me deeply, really. It inspired me so I thought I’d share.

It is officially Itsibblog’s 1st day of BLOGMAS 2024! We will be having 12 days of blogmas which I’m super excited about. Your girl has been BUSY with school. It’s my final year of university so some of you can imagine how hectic that is and the semester is only just beginning. Suspect is tired but she’s too much of a Christmas lover to not partake in Blogmas.

For the first day, I’m doing a progress report on my goals for 2024! At the beginning of the year, I broke my goals down into 5 segments; Spiritual, Physical/Mental Health, Blog, Financial and Academics. I narrowed them down to 10 overall goals which is what I will be evaluating today.

2024 Goals

Build a stronger relationship with God

Honestly, I can say that my relationship with God definitely grew stronger. I saw Him manifest a lot in my life this year. I can’t really be a judge of this but I hope that everyone around me can see the fruits of His Spirit in my life.

Sustain relationships with my family and friends

This year, I was more intentional with my friendships and relationships. Especially because I didn’t physically see my friends a lot this year so I was more intentional about checking up and staying in touch. I was also more open minded about people which led me to experience some very funny situations but it was fun.

Read 2 books every month

My reading tanked so bad this year. I think I read 20+ books last year. I didn’t even read up to 10 this year. I’ve left my self help phase and I’m still trying to figure out what I feel like reading. I’m more into watching series right now, which is totally fine. We’re allowed to change. I finally completed all 10 seasons of FRIENDS and I’m currently in season 5 of SUITS along with other reality and drama series.

Reach 1k subscribers on my blog

We did not hit 1k this year *plays sad trumpet beat* but this blog definitely hit some wins this year that I wasn’t expecting so that’s alright.

Be my healthiest and happiest self

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever looked better than I looked this year and I don’t mean just my physical appearance but my energy in general. This is truly a win and I’m grateful to God.

Be on first class in both semesters

This, I did accomplish which feels great. Got a first class in both semesters in my 400 level. Yayy

Have a remote content/social job

I do not have a remote content job. I underestimated how stressful my internship was going to be. With the internship and being consistent on the blog as well, I’m not sure I could’ve put my all into another job.

Take my love and passion for nails seriously

I did take this seriously. Started a business in school and all that but I suddenly realized that I just really love doing my own nails and I’m not so eager or passionate enough to run a nail business but we’ll see, in the future.

Save consistently and invest wisely

Y’all, the economy is toughhhh but I managed to invest some money this year. Saving money in this country is ridiculous because the more you save, the more your money becomes less of what it’s worth as the days go by. The best thing is to invest which I did so yay!

Love myself more every day of 2024

I loved God more which meant I loved myself more and I had more love to pour into others as well. 2024 was definitely filled with love.

On a scale of 1/10, I’d rate my accomplishment an 8/10 for real. I think I did pretty well.

That’s it for Blogmas Day 1!

This is to encourage you to go through your goals for 2024. Be proud of the ones you accomplished and re-strategize for the ones you couldn’t.

I’ve been seeing a lot of vision board/reality videos and I just want to remind you that not everyone’s 2024 was like that. Social media is a highlight reel. Even if the only thing you accomplished this year was making it to the 20th of December, 2024, that is still a great win!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope to see you same time tomorrow for Blogmas Day 2! Love you!

What was a highlight for you in 2024?
