What Is Blogmas? A Simple Guide to Blogmas 2025

It’s THAT time of the year again! Twinkling lights, hot chocolate, and lots of content! Welcome to Blogmas 2025 here on ITSIBBLOG!

My absolute favorite time of the year.

I really thought about whether I was going to participate in Blogmas this year or not, but I’ve been joining since 2021 and I honestly, enjoy it so much! So here we are again, Blogmas 2025!

But what better way to launch than to enlighten the people on what Blogmas actually is?

What is Blogmas?

Blogmas is a festive blogging challenge/tradition where bloggers post every day or for a set number of days leading up to Christmas and the new year.

It’s kind of like an advent calendar, but with fun festive blog posts instead of sweet treats. Blogmas is a writer’s Christmas gift to their readers.

How Long Is A Typical Blogmas Challenge?

How you choose to do Blogmas is truly based on you, your creativity and your schedule. Every blogger’s Blogmas is unique and that’s what makes it so special.

Some bloggers do 25 days of Blogmas (from December 1st to 25th), some do till the new year and some stop at 12 days.

The days you choose to post (if you’re not posting everyday) also depends on you. You need to plan ahead and determine how your schedule will work for you.

For Blogmas 2025, I’m doing 12 days of Blogmas and I will be posting thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I know my life, I know what my holiday looks like and this is the schedule that works for me. Yours could be very different.

What To Post For Blogmas?

This, ALSO depends on you! (Count how many times I say this in this post)

Some bloggers follow Blogmas prompts or calendars that were created by other bloggers. Some keep their Blogmas posts strictly Christmas-themed. While others just post whatever they like and however they like.

Personally, I like to use this challenge to reflect on the year, share my lessons, soak up my experiences and end the year a grateful mindset. But I also love to sprinkle some Christmas-themed posts here and there because I’m a sucker for jingle bells.

Tips To Enjoy Blogmas To The Fullest

1. Plan Ahead

Unless you’re someone that thrives on spontaneity and last minute decisions, please plan ahead for Blogmas.

Decide on what posts you want to write, the theme and schedule. Plan everything. Or else it can get very overwhelming or stressful down the line.

2. Batch Create and Schedule Your Content

Let’s be honest, you’re not always in the “mood” to create content. Some days, you just don’t feel it.

On days when I feel the creative juices flowing, I write about 2/3 posts and schedule them ahead of time. This will take off so much pressure and allow you to actually enjoy the present.

3. Engage With The Community

I’ve noticed that the passion for Blogmas has dwindled over the last few years but there are still creators (like me!) who still love and participate in Blogmas.

Look for other creators that are participating and engage with their content. Like and leave a comment. They’ll appreciate it and most likely return the favor.

4. Give Yourself Grace

Blogmas can be a lot sometimes, and there’s nothing you want more than to cross off those days. But try to stay present.

The point of Blogmas is to celebrate Christmas, so if it seems like it’s getting too overwhelming or time consuming, it’s okay to pause. You can try again another year.

Remember, it all depends on YOU.

I can’t wait to read all the Blogmas posts this year. I also can’t wait to participate. If you have any questions, comment down below and I’ll make sure to answer.
