TWTW- Time With The Word

TWTW: People Pleasing (Galatians 1:10)

Today’s post is centered on one question.

Is your goal in life to please people or to please God?

Why do you wake up each day? Why do you dress the way you dress? Why do you post the things you post? Why do you identify as a who you are? At the end of the day, when you climb into your bed, what do you feel most fulfilled by?

Galatians 1:10 says, “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant”.

I meditated on this verse for days and it really made me think deeply about how I live my life. In what way, do I subconsciously act to please others?

Living to please God is to live authentically, because if you identify as a Christian, you should be striving to live like Christ which pleases God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God”.

Even in the mundane parts of our day, we should be conscious about seeking the approval of God and not man.

Sometimes we get so caught up with the things of this world; our jobs, our dreams, success, relationships that we forget what the one true goal is. That we will one day be reunited with our Father and all these things won’t matter then.

1 Corinthians 7:31 says, “Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know, will soon pass away”

(P.S: Watched a video recently where someone said if you talk about God without backing it up with the Word then that’s just you stating your opinion so we’re backing each point with the Word!)

I encourage you to take some time to reflect and ask yourself, what is your goal for doing the things you do? To please God or people?

Thank you so much for reading! I really hope this spoke to you in some way. Let me know what you think in the comments!
