Lifestyle Changes Since My New Job 💻 📔

It’s been almost two months since I started working at my new office. Mind you, this is my first actual corporate job and getting this job wasn’t planned at all.

Everything happened in two days and Gbam! I got the job. So there had been a massive shift in my lifestyle these past weeks and I thought I’d tell you all about it.

My cute bag, diary and flask. I thought this was aesthetically pleasing

1. My Sleep Routine

I used to be the type to go to bed by 12am-1am. I usually never went to bed early unless I had a concert to watch the next day or a song was going to be released but ever since I started working, I’ve been going to bed early, 11pm max because I have to be up early in the morning.

I used to wake up at 4/4:30am when I just began working but I’ve kind of found my balance and realized that 5am works better. Believe me, even a 30mins sleep is worth it.

Even 11pm-5am isn’t enough sleep but I’ve been surviving it.

2. Breakfast 🍳?

I don’t think I have had a filling breakfast since I started working😂. I don’t even know what that feels like anymore.

I wake up by 5am and have to be on my way by 6:30am to be able to get to work before 8:30am so I don’t have enough time to prepare lunch not to talk of having breakfast. Plus I can’t even eat that early or my tummy gets upset.

At first I started with not having anything at all. Then I found out that a restaurant close to my workplace usually sells coffee and pastries, a lot of people gather there in the mornings. I became one of those people for a while before realizing that it doesn’t help my savings.

Now, I buy sachets of Nescafé coffee (which is much cheaper) and prepare my coffee at the office. Then I have biscuits with it. That’s my usual breakfast, everyone!

Oh yeah, I turned 20 on the 12th of August. My parents and my office got me a cake

3. Lunch 😔

Hmm lunch has actually been a pretty big problem…it still is 😂.

Because of how early I leave the house, I barely have the time to have breakfast not to talk of preparing lunch so most of the time, I either order or walk to the restaurant close to my office but the meals there are really expensive.

Since I can’t do without having lunch since all I usually have for breakfast is coffee, I’m trying to come up with a cheaper means of having lunch but I doubt there’ll be any. I’ll just have to keep buying lunch 😂

4. Wardrobe

There has been a massive change in my dressing 😭. I can only dress corporate to work and since I do not like skirts or gowns, I’m stuck with pallazos and office pants all week. It’s so funny cause I was never the type. You would always see me in jeans and a round neck top with sneakers. Now I can’t even wear sneakers except on Fridays.

I still have to go shopping cause I do not have a lot of corporate clothes yet.

Those are 4 changes to my lifestyle since I began working. I hope you enjoyed reading!

Have you ever been suddenly thrust into a new lifestyle? What changed? How did you adjust? What do you suggest I do concerning my lunch? 😭

Good luck, girl! First jobs are always so exciting. I love corporate dressing so much. Makes me feel very powerful to be in a suit. I’m sure you’ll find your personal corporate fashion and love it. 🙂

Also meal prepping is a great way to make sure you take a packed lunch from home. On Sunday evening, prep 3-4 meals and keep them in the fridge – so you just need to take it out and heat them at work. I also used to make overnight oats/chia pudding to take for lunch to office when I didn’t have a lot of time in the morning.

Awww thank you!!!
I should probably go shopping soon, I’ll be able to find my style.

Thank you for this idea🥺. I never thought of that. Also, we don’t have constant electricity here so that probably won’t be sustainable but I’ll definitely give it a try. Thank you so much❤️❤️
