REAL TALK: MY CAREER OR MY HOME? A WOMAN’S DILEMMA…

WHAT’S UP EVERYBODY!!! WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

How’re you?! How was your week?! Hope it wasn’t nearly as stressful as mine?

I’m scrolling through all my social media accounts this morning and there’s just this very serene joy everywhere and we obviously know why… JOE BIDEN is FINALLY the President of the USA and the most exciting part, KAMALA HARRIS (by the way, my new role model) is the first BLACK-INDIAN woman to occupy the seat of the VP. All I see is growth, growth, growth!!! Nigeria, when?

Anyways, back to the subject matter, I was scrolling when I saw a post saying “Trump said he would be back, one way or another” and I couldn’t help but burst into laughter 😂😂😂. Like bruvvvvvvv, MOVE ON!

To be honest, Trump being Trump, I expected him to do something much more worse before leaving but he has promised us drama later so we’re anticipating 😂. It can’t be just me that sees Trump as a Cartoon Network villain. His demeanor, vibe, everything about him just screams BEN 10 OMNIVERSE😂!!! All those villains that always say, “I will be back, one way or another!”. That’s who Trump looks like to me, just with a more annoying voice. 😂

Speaking of being annoyed, our topic of discussion today ANNOYED MEEEE when I heard it yesterday.

REAL TALK

So a Deaconess, Mrs Emerald Udeakaji resigned from her position which is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ebonyi State. Reason being, “she wants to save her marriage”.

So she resigned cause her husband wasn’t happy that she was working or the fact that she was working was ruining her marriage or is it that she didn’t have time for the kids…

I’m a bit puzzled…

So she quit her means of livelihood because the Bible says, “Woman, be submissive to your husband”. Well the Bible also says,

But I don’t think a man who loves his wife would tell her to quit her job for whatever reason, maybe to be a stay at home mum or he just doesn’t like the fact that she is in a position higher than him and before anyone says, “How do you know the husband told her to quit?!”. Well first of all, she said “Her resignation is out of family issues” and then she says, “Her family is tearing apart” so please please use your brain here😁.

Something that baffles me is, why does it have to be the woman that has to quit when the kids need attention or when the family is “tearing apart”. Why is it that in Nigeria, the woman is the one that has to quit her work, especially when her work is highly demanding. I have never seen a Nigerian man tell his wife, “Honey, you know what? Don’t worry, I will try to be arriving home early to take care of the kids”. It is not the mother’s duty or goal in life to take care of the kids. It is the duty of BOTH parents! So if one isn’t available then the other can assist but in Nigeria, it just has to be the mum. Whether she’s the president or the CEO, she has to leave work early to pick the kids from school and then prepare dinner for her husband.

COME ON GUYS!!! JUST LOOK AT DOUG EMHOFF!

Doug met Kamala when she was the Attorney General of California. If he told her to quit her job then, would we celebrating history today? Of course not! If he had told her that she had to make time for the kids since he is a lawyer as well, would we be celebrating the First African American and Asian American Vice President?! NO!

Mind you, this man quit his job to make time for the kids so Kamala can continue to work without worry.

CAN WE JUST WAKE UP IN THIS COUNTRY?!

Yooooooo, this is giving me a headache!

It’s like Nigeria is in a different planet! You see growth, growth, growth and then land in Nigeria and just sigh. Sometimes I feel like when I think of all the problems in Nigeria, my brain shrinks.

Anyways, just thought I’d rant a bit. I’d also love to know what you think so please comment down below, I always respond to every comment and I do enjoy doing so…so share your mind down below.

Wishing you all an amazing weekend! Love y’all! Peace!

This is Nigeria for you my dear..
We never can tell tho.. family issues might also be frm the in-laws but it isn’t right for a man to tell his wife who is actually trying to support him to quit her job. Believe you me IB I won’t do it 😂😂 cos at the end of the day oh! That lady will still have problems one way or the other expect God intervenes.
The problems might still come from the husband’s family or the husband himself saying the wife isn’t supportive and all that.
The mentality of we Nigerians and the Americans eeh 😂 is just so different

True, it could be from her in-laws but you know she highlighted “Wives, Submit to your Husbands”. To be honest, I love everything you said. Thank you for sharing! 🤍

It’s so interesting to see how that plays out and how little attention it seems to be getting in American media. You’re exactly right though, and I completely agree with everything you said!
